Prof. Y. Şükrü ÇAĞLAR, MD

I was born in Ankara, in 20.12.1963. I received my primary, secondary and higher education at TED Ankara College. I achieved 34th rank in Turkey Interuniversity Selection and Placement Examination and was admitted into Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine as the highest ranking student. I was graduated from Faculty of Medicine in 1987 again as the highest ranking student. By achieving success in TUS exam (examination for speciality in medicine) that was held in the same year, I continued with my education as an assistant at Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery, which was my first preference. I finished my thesis on 8 June, 1994 and did well in speciality exam and received speciality diploma in Neurosurgery. During my assistantship, I researched on cell transplantation into brain in University of Birmingham, England. Furthermore, I received microsurgery training from Prof. Dr. Gazi Yaşargil in University of Zurich, Switzerland.
